Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-06
This policy describes how WhatsCalendar (“we”, “the service”) handles information when you use our WhatsApp calendar assistant.
Information we collect
- WhatsApp messages — text you send to the bot, used to generate replies and run calendar actions.
- Conversation history — recent messages stored to maintain context (limited retention).
- Google OAuth tokens — stored securely after you connect Google Calendar, used only to access your calendar on your behalf.
- Calendar data — event titles and times retrieved or created when you request calendar actions.
- User preferences — optional name and timezone you provide.
- Technical logs — basic server logs for debugging and security (no message content sold or shared).
How we use information
- To respond to your messages and perform calendar actions you request.
- To maintain your session and preferences across restarts.
- To improve reliability and fix errors.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use calendar data for advertising.
- We do not access your Google Calendar without your explicit OAuth consent.
Data storage
Data is stored in a secured database (MongoDB). OAuth tokens and conversation data are associated with your WhatsApp identifier and are not shared with other users.
Third-party services
- Google Calendar API — calendar read/write after you authorize.
- Groq — processes message text to generate assistant replies.
- Hosting provider — runs the application infrastructure.
Revoking access
You can revoke Google Calendar access at any time in your Google Account permissions. Stop messaging the bot to discontinue use.
